Spend the Day at Silver Dollar City

 by David Bryce

Going on vacation is always a wonderful thing. Getting away from the hustle and bustle of normal life at home is a very needed and therapeutic habit to get into. When you add a theme park into the deal, that makes it all the better! So when you visit Branson, MO, be sure to stop in and see what all the fuss is about at Silver Dollar City!

Less than ten minutes away from Thousand Hills Golf Resort in Branson, Silver Dollar City is full of enough activities and rides to keep you busy for an entire day, whether going as a family or just as a couple. In fact, Thousand Hills does have vacation packages that include admission to the theme park.

When you arrive at the park, you will find yourself bombarded with things to do all around you. Rides, food, shopping, shows...so have a plan as to what you would like to do once you get there.
Rides: There are more than 30 rides for your entertainment including the Fire-in-the-hole, the Giant Swing, and the Grand Exposition. If you love roller coasters, the Thunderation takes you 81 feet into the treetops with a breathtaking view of the Ozarks, if you have the time to look at the scenery between screams! Most rides are all family friendly so even the smaller kids can ride with an adult. Colored wristbands are provided to make finding coordinating rides easier. There is even a place for your cell number in case you happen to get separated.

Food: There are no shortage of places to eat in Silver Dollar City. Whether you want concession style food on the fly or a sit down meal in a restaurant, they have it all. Go for breakfast as early as 8:30 in the morning at select places, or stay for fried chicken dinners. All food vendors are certified in the Serve Safe Food handling practices, and there are Culinary classes you can enroll in and learn some tricks of the trade while you are there down south.
Shopping: Here, you are subject to many vendors that offer you an array of craftsman items that are handmade and unique. Get them while you are there, for you can’t just buy them anywhere you go. This is a great time to do your Christmas shopping while you have access to so many one of a kind things! It is quite possible to spend one whole day just browsing the shops!

So while you are off having the time of your life, don’t forget to include the amazing Silver Dollar City into your stay. Being listed in the top ten amusement parks, you would be crazy not to give it a whirl! Spending the entire day, or three or four, it could be the highlight of your trip. Don’t forget that Branson Cabins are a very luxurious way to spend your holiday and can put together a vacationing package that will make it a wonderful trip.
